From the Principal

We enjoyed a wonderful Grade 5/6 Camp last week in Melbourne. The students were tremendous in the way they represented themselves and our school. It was a busy three days with lots of lasting memories made. Particular thanks to Mrs Bouchier, Miss Cole, Michelle and the St Colman's staff led by Janet Cain.

The students have settled in well to their new surroundings. It has been pleasing to see them adjusting well to transformation of our school. Below is some more information regarding the building project and what the finish product should look like.

This evening we have some students from Grade 3 and Grade 4 making their sacrament of Reconciliation with the  students from St Colman's, Mortlake. Our prayers are with these students as they continue their faith journey.

Enjoy the remainder of the week

Matt Uzkuraitis

News

ASSEMBLY: We will have assembly this week. Grade 4/5B will be sharing. Please note that assembly will take place at the church on Friday at 2:45pm

WEDNESDAY WEEKLY MASS: No weekly Mass

PICK UP AND DROP OFF: School drop off and pick up will happen as per usual. Students can arrive at 8:30am, this is the time we have someone on duty. If any student comes before 8:30am, they will need to sit on the seats underneath the library windows. As for pick ups. If you are walking into the school to collect your child at the end of the day, we ask that you collect them from the undercover area (not outside their classroom). Thanks in advance.

LEARNING PORTFOLIOS: A reminder to return your child's Learning Portfolio as they will be updated with semester 2 learning material/assessments. These learning portfolios were handed out on the last day of term 2 as part of our reporting process.

Regional Athletics

Last Friday we had a number of representatives at the Regional Athletics in Ballarat. Congratulation to the following students:

Georgie Mellington                        Annabelle Blackford                    Kora Wines                         Summer Davis

Georgina Blackford                        Angeline Richard                           Nellie Kenna

The students did an amazing job at their track and field events. It is such a massive achievement to make it this far - well done everyone, we are super proud of you all.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day, observed on 10 October each year, is a global initiative that highlights the importance of mental health to overall wellbeing. It serves as a timely reminder that mental health challenges can affect anyone: children, teens, and adults alike.

This day is not only about reducing stigma, but also about strengthening awareness, encouraging open conversations and ensuring young people know where to turn to for support. By acknowledging World Mental Health Day we can help reduce stigma to build more compassionate and supportive environments.

Parents and caregivers play a central role in shaping the mental health of their children. World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the pressures young people face in today's world and how we can best support them. Whether it's helping them find balance between school, technology and rest, encouraging open conversations about feelings, or modelling healthy coping strategies ourselves, taking small steps at home can make a big difference. By engaging with resources and discussions on this day, families can strengthen their understanding of mental health and contribute to a culture where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness.
