Prayer

From the Principal

Today we celebrated our Opening School Liturgy at the Church. We were also able to hand our Year 6 leaders their badges as well.
Last Friday we had our Grade 3-6 swimming carnival at Mortlake with St Colman's. A big thank you to Brianna Barr and Nicole Moulden for their organisation of this event. Also a big thank you to our parent helpers who helped out. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. The students had lots of fun and tried their best - which is all we ask for. The division swimming championships are on the 28th February in Warrnambool. We will notify those students who have made it to the next stage soon.
This week will see our Grade 3-6 students start some swimming lessons (starting Friday). These swimming lessons are run by trained swim instructors from the Splash Factory. The lessons are held at the Terang Swimming Pool. More details are below.
Enjoy the remainder of the week.

Emails - please check
We have had some issues with families emails - some seem to be receiving emails from the school others not. This may stem from receiving (or not) emails regarding the newsletter to receiving (or not) emails about your school fee statements. We ask that you check your junk/spam folder and if emails are going into their to adjust your settings. We are working hard to rectify any problems from our end also. Alternatively if you have concerns that emails are not getting to you, please contact Linda at the office.
Cyber Agreement/Photography Permission
Over the coming days you will get alerted via email to complete our school's Cyber Agreement and we are also updating our Photography Permission as well. This will be accessed through PAM. These email alerts will come out this week.

Friendship and Belonging
It is not always easy for children and teenagers to always know how to manage friendships. Learning how to make new friends and keep them involves a number of skills every young person needs to understand and develop. For some these skills will come very naturally, allowing them to easily move between different friendship groups, sharing their experiences and opening up to new people. For others, this can be much harder to navigate. Belonging to a group that is like-minded with similar interests is highly beneficial to a child’s wellbeing. Friendships are full of ups and downs and it is better for kids to learn how to manage and build their own friendships, even though as an adult carer you may be tempted to interfere.
Click on the link below to learn about this area.
“The ability to obtain, maintain and retain friendships is, according to all the childhood psychologists in the whole wide world, the greatest predictor of wellbeing. Having a rich repertoire of friends is a true indicator of whether your child is travelling ok.”
